Jason received his Masters in Social Work from the California State University, Fresno and earned his clinical license under supervision as a full-time therapist on the Fresno County Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team for 2 years.  He has been intensively trained in DBT by Behavioral Tech, LLC, and has been a Linehan Board of Certification (LBC) DBT certified clinician since early 2020.  Jason has provided DBT, CBT, and mindfulness based therapy since 2013 and conducted his master’s thesis on the effects of mindfulness-based therapy for depression among economically disadvantage older adults.  He opened a private practice in 2019 in addition to his full-time work at Portland DBT Institute in order to help adults with anxiety, depression, and other problems of emotional dysregulation and/or overcontrol, and he integrates mindfulness principles in the work with his clients.  Jason has practiced mindfulness since 2008, plays drums and percussion, and enjoys all the typical recreational activities available in the PNW while raising his Australian puppy, Rumi.
